Thanks Joe so pleased this resonated! Many of the artists I work with are systems thinkers, although they don’t use that terminology. They see the whole and not just the parts is how most would explain their world view. I’m really interested to see where your thinking and writing goes on this subject. Making these connections is going to be so important to help us solve our big challenges 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Wow! This is exactly where I've ended up in my head. Let me explain.

I've been studying systems thinking for years trying to figure out how to make it more approachable and practical to more people. Briefly, systems thinking takes a more holistic approach to understanding and designing our various levels of human-made systems. Despite its name, it really is focused on the inherent human elements of complexity within systems.

It's been years of studying and translating but I did not arrive at the more foundational element until I took up photography. Only recently, I've come to the conclusion that it's not even about systems thinking (as human as it can be in application) as the first-order thing to tackle.

The more foundational concern is the human capacity to become curious and creative again within the systems that sap those foundational human needs away from us.

I've just started working on this shift in my own thinking.

Great post and prompt!
